Commercial Structure Fire

On Saturday Nov 29th at 1233 Hrs the dept was activated for a commercial structure fire. Upon arrival of Chief-30 he observed an active fire in an auto repair shop and transmitted a working fire. C-31, 32 & 33 all arrived and dept SOG”s for commercial structure fires were initiated. E-7 arrived 1st due and secured a positive water source. Multiple hose lines were stretched and crews entered the build and extinguished the fire. TL-14 arrived with E-7 and performed primary searches for any victims which proved negative. The outside team members performed ventilation as needed. E-15 arrived 2nd due Eng and backed up E-7.
E-17 arrived 3rd due engine and handled the back up hose lines as needed. EMS operations were handled both with the volunteer members and district paid crews establishing triage / treatment zones and rehab of operating members. Fire police units arrived and secured the scene and provided safety zones. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation by the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshall’s Office. Mutual aid was supplied by the Brookhaven Nat Lab FD- FAST , Sound Beach FD- Engine, Wading River FD- Truck, Miller Place FD- Truck
