During the sever drought conditions throughout Long Island the dept was requested to respond on an unprecedented amount of mutual aid brush fires to surrounding towns. Members from all companies combined crews to work feverishly to contain the flames from continuing to spread. At times members worked throughout the night and hours during the day. It was through the efforts of the members and their mutual aid partners that conditions never worsened. No injuries were reported and any fire conditions are under investigation by the appropriate agencies.
