VOLUNTEERS WANTED

The Rocky Point Fire Department (New York) is continuously accepting applications for membership.

STEP 1: Download the following attachment, which outlines the membership requirements and benefits our organization provides.

STEP 2: Give careful consideration to the committment required. If you are able to meet these requirements and would like to begin the membership process, then complete the Membership Application Form

Prerequisites: 

• You must live or work full-time within the Rocky Point Fire District for a minimum of 1 year to apply for membership
• You mustbe 18 years olf age
  • If you are 17, you may submit this application three months prior to your 18th birthday.

Benefits:

• College Tuition Assistance- Participation in the Suffolk Educational program for Retention in the Voluntary Emergency Service (SERVES) program for tuition assistance in exchange for years of service
• Retirement benefits- The Rocky Point Fire Department participates in the NY State Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP). The program is based on your years of service and the capacity of your service. Qualifying members are eligible to receive monthly benefit checks starting at age 55.
• Regular medical exams (physicals)
• Free training, classes, and certifcation
• All necessary personal protective equipment
